19 12 2007The fashion and beauty industry definitely isn’t just in the real world any more now that simulation is here!
And www.Dressup247.com makes it so much fun- especially if you have little ones to keep occupied over the Christmas holidays!…
But then again, i loved this site and I’m in my teens, so the “little ones” aren’t the only people that would benefit from visiting this site! It has so much for everyone- even the boys would get a kick out of this (if their soccer/ football crazy dad’s would allow them to, that is, ha-ha)!
Basically, www.dressup247.com is an arcade of hundreds of games especially developed to allow us to experience what it’s like as a fashion designer or makeup artist, for example.
I visited the site on request to review it and although some of the websites like this i have visited previously have been of low quality, nothing but positivity was radiated from this one!
I’ll start off with the look and feel of the website as well as the navigational aspects of it;
From a first glance i understand that the site is targeted at girls, probably aging from as young as just 5 right up to a teenage audience. The pink, feminine layout was really cute- definitely appealing to kids of these age groups.
The navigation was easy to use, too with a simple main tool bar running across the top of the pages and underneath the main banner, with the log-in form on the left hand side. Simple.
I was happy to see that updates (even though the site wasn’t constantly bombarded with them, which was efficient as the main objective of the website wasn’t made recessive by this) were written in an informal, chatty style, also- perfectly understood by young girls.
Secondly, i was intrigued by the games provided on the site. I thought being a site with a simple but very specific niche of fashion and beauty dress up games, “how could each game be so different from the next?”.
Well, I’ll tell you…
Each game was definitely different from the next. And although all had the same objective- i was even kept fixed by the constant change of characters, clothing, products and themes that the games had to offer.
I’ll use the “Christmas Outfit” dress up game (http://www.dressup247.com/game/220/Christmas-Outfit.html) to demonstrate further.
The game loaded fast (no temper tantrums there, then!) to a young cartoon girl in suitable underwear (not too provocative for the audience of young girls), in which she is surrounded by a large inventory of clothes such as tights, jumpers, shirts, jeans, hats and accessories, which were even stylishly suitable for this year/ seasons fashions.
It was simple to use- you basically click, drag and drop each garment piece to wherever it needed to be placed on the girls body- allowing you to create a different look every time!
So, conclusive to my review, i would just like to mention that www.dressup247.com definitely scored at-least a 9/10 in my books and is certainly recommended.
